One Of Those

How I love going to the theatre…it’s definitely one of my favourite kinds of outing. It’s a fab way to forget about your daily errands and stresses and get drawn in by the voices and characters on the stage.

I had a sneak preview while the team rehearsed in our top floor office this week. It’s a great comedy which challenges the classical stereotypes of age and background and explores the exciting beginnings of a new relationship against the desperate cartwheels of a relationship long entrenched.

The play has been written by Tom Ward-Thomas who previously worked part-time for Aussie Man and Van. Acting is Tom’s passion, and he certainly loved a good drama in the office. I asked him how he came up with the idea, and here is his response:

“I wrote a short comedy sketch around four years ago about two people meeting on the train and starting a conversation where they judge each other horrifically. I picked it up two years later and extended it into a short play, with the characters’ situations inspired by situations in my family and friendship groups.”
The team at Aussie Man and Van wish him all the best with the play and all future productions!
